THE ugliest yellow bag in the fashion world has raised £450 for a cancer charity after a Stourport pub had it stay with them as celebrity guest.

The Ugly Yellow Handbag started its charitable life by being donated to raise money for the Great Whitley church roof and only raising £25, a few charity sales later it skyrocketed to raising £1,090 for cancer patients.

Now a celebrity, the bag travels around the country raising money.

On August 1 and 2, it was at The Dog at Dunley and many visitors flocked to see it raising £450 for Team Verrico in the process.

The pub managers, Tracey and Jerome Ganné also put on a raffle to help raise funds, donating a meal for two in the pub's restaurant as the top prize. The winner was Lynne Rawlings.

The now infamous bag then travelled to another place where its fundraising powers were needed, however, on August 15 and 16, it went 'home' to Great Witley tearooms where its began its journey when kindly donated to the raffle to raise funds for the church roof, before again returning to The Nottingham Cake Company, its current owners.

The bag is set to go back on eBay for auction in the hopes it will again raise a substantial amount of money for charity.
