THE Shuttle has dismal news for graffiti lovers in Kidderminster as we reveal the 'Banksy' piece was not done by the famous artist.

Another Bristol-based artist has claimed he is behind graffiti artwork featuring Paris Hilton which had been attributed to Banksy.

John D'oh has said he is behind the large piece which appeared in Market Street in Kidderminster and appeared over the weekend.

The image features the socialite in a Mickey Mouse hat alongside her pet chihuahua Tinkerbell with Banksy written on her T-shirt.

There was also a Dismaland motif referring to the Disneyland-esque "bemusement park" the real Banksy has created in Weston-super-Mare where a second similar piece also appeared.

People living in the area had questioned whether the real Banksy had struck and, if so, how much the artwork may be worth.

However, it seems it was created as part of the Kidderminster Arts Festival which came to a close this weekend.

John D'oh posted on his Facebook page: "Okay, confession time. I own up - it was me.

"(It was) fun whilst it lasted - my little Banksy/Dismaland tribute piece done at Weston-Super-Mare and Kidderminster.

"I just had to think up something that said Disney and Paris Hilton and her dead dog Tinkerbell fitted that bill perfectly, added a Banksy t-shirt and left it unsigned and bingo - the press lapped it up.

"Also, I knew that Mr B had used Paris before, although way back in 2006."

He later revealed that the real Paris Hilton had begun following him on Twitter following the stunt.

"Hope Banksy likes my tribute piece," John D'oh added.

The work has since been covered up for as of yet unknown reasons with a wooden board.
