BIFFY Clyro will headline Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations this year, in their only live UK performance of the year.

The band will be joined by Idlewild and Honeyblood in an all-Scottish line-up for the Concert in the Gardens.

Organisers said it was a “real coup” that Biffy Clyro will make their single live UK performance of the year at the event which they last headlined in 2010.

The Ayrshire band said: “We are so happy to come out of musical hibernation to kick off 2016 with the show on Hogmanay.

“We want to rock off the cobwebs and prepare for the year of da biff. Nothing can compete with Edinburgh’s celebrations and we hope to make it a special night for everyone.”

ACTRESS Lisa Riley has backed Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s call for body-shaming to be made illegal.

X Factor judge Cheryl faced criticism of her slimmer appearance from fans when the show’s auditions were filmed in July.

Former Emmerdale actress Lisa has now spoken out and agreed that body-shaming is “completely and utterly wrong”.

“I completely agree with Cheryl. Body shaming is completely and utterly wrong. I want to be judged because I am a good actress or a good presenter – that is all,” Lisa told the Mirror.

The actress is a size 18 and has lost four stone since she took part in Strictly Come Dancing three years ago, but said, like Cheryl, she is still judged for her weight.

CLASSIC detective series Hart To Hart is to be rebooted – but with the husband-and-wife detective team re-imagined as a gay couple.

In the original, which ran from 1979 to 1984, Jonathan and Jennifer Hart were played by Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers. They were a glamorous, wealthy couple who regularly stumbled upon murders.

But now, lawyer Jonathan Hart is set to investigate crimes with male partner Dan Hartman, an “investigator”, according to Deadline. They will attempt to balance their crime-solving activities with trying to live a happy home life together.

It has not yet been revealed who will play Jonathan and Dan, or whether there will be a role for Max – the couple’s loyal butler, cook and chauffeur, who was played by the late Lionel Stander in the original series.
