A MAN escaped unhurt after his car ended up in a canal near Kidderminster.
The BMW driver had a lucky escape after his car ended up in the canal near Lea Lane, in Cookley, just after 2.30pm, on Tuesday (October 6).
When crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene, the man was already out of the car.
He was checked over by an ambulance crew and a rapid response vehicle, and discharged at the scene.
Kidderminster firefighters were joined by Droitwich and Worcester firefighters to recover the BMW from the canal.
A spokesman from HWFRS said: "Crews and water first responders from Kidderminster attended the incident along with boats from Worcester and Droitwich.
"The incident involved a vehicle in the canal and the driver had been released prior to our arrival and was cared for by the ambulance service.
"No other people were believed to have been in the vehicle and crews assisted police using a rescue sledge and cameras to confirm this."
