LIGHTING up the streets of Stourport, this year's Three Kings Parade will march its way from the Civic Centre on Friday, November 20.

As the parade of Stourport's carnival queen, princess and rosebud, three kings, and local dignitaries pass through the town, the Christmas lights will be switch on.

Taking off from the rear of the Civic Centre at 6pm, Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier and Mayor of Stourport Councillor Cliff Brewer will join pupils from St Bartholomew's C of E Primary, Burlish Park Primary, Astley C of E Primary, Stourport High, and other local schools, who are carrying the three kings, members from local scouts organisation, and actors from the local Monday Night Group, as they parade in front of Stourport Rotary Club's Santa and sleigh.

The parade will finish back at the Civic Centre where there will be a short carol service and the town's new Christmas trees will be turned on by the mayor and carnival queen. The finale of the evening will be a giant firework display sponsored by the town council.

As well as parade entertainment, there will be street entertainment for the duration of the parade. There are still space available for any entertainers wishing to take part. Those interested should contact organiser Pete Roberts on 01299 879340.

Children and parents participating in the parade will be encouraged to wear Christmas-themed fancy dress.
