A TEAM of CID officers from Kidderminster police will be lacing up their running shoes to support the town’s hospice.

The eight women will be taking part in Kemp Hospice’s Santa Fun Run, which takes place on Sunday, December 6.

It starts in Brinton Park, Kidderminster and takes you along the canal to Wolverley before returning to Brinton Park via the streets of Kidderminster.

The run is being sponsored by Western Power Distribution (WPD) which has enabled Kemp to purchase 400 Santa Suits and promotional items required and help keep costs down.

Shelley Stanley, Event Fundraiser at KEMP said: “This event is very popular with the community and a highlight in our calendar of events.

“Last year we raised a fantastic £18,000 which went to providing life limiting care and bereavement services to families in the Wyre Forest.

“We really appreciate the support of everyone taking part from individuals to corporate teams, like Kidderminster CID and Co-op.”

Stella Hayward from WPD said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Santa Fun Run this year. We have been keen supporters of the charity for several years as we recognise that events like these help to raise vital funds for the charity in a really fun way.

“Kemp Hospice is a fantastic charity and I would encourage other local people and businesses to show their support as well.”

The CID team at Kidderminster Police Station have set up a Just Giving page to raise their sponsorship - www.justgiving.com/Santas-Sirens/

Registration is £15 per person to include the Santa suit, hot drink and snack at the end of the run.

People can register online via our website www.kemphospice.org.uk, email Shelley on shelley.stanley@kemphospice.org.uk or call the fundraising office on 01562 756066.
