A POIGNANT campaign has been launched to help people remember their loved ones and support a Kidderminster hospice.

Brook Court care home, which is based in Kidderminster, is sponsoring Kemp Hospice’s ‘Light up a Life’ campaign.

People are invited to dedicate a light to hang up, alongside a tag with a special message, on one of the trees based in Wyre Forest.

Those who take part will also receive card to display at home with your loved ones name inside. The people being remembered will then be recorded in the 2015 Book of Memories.

The campaign finishes with a celebration service at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday December 12 at 11am and everyone is welcome to attend.

Simon Maskell, Customer Relations Manager from Brook Court said: “Christmas is a special time of year, but for those who have lost a loved one it can bring back both sad and happy memories.

“We at Brook Court care home are sponsoring the light up a life campaign to bring a time of reflection and comfort to those who put a star on the tree.”

Shelley Stanley, Events Fundraiser at Kemp added: “We are looking forward to working closely with Brook Court and hope their residents enjoy taking part in this campaign.

“We also have great support from our Charity of the year partner, Mid Counties Co-op with Light up a Life trees in their Stourport, Franche and Tenbury Wells stores.

“As usual we have a tree at Bewdley Museum and at The Swan Centre in Kidderminster. A big thank you goes to Paul at Cooks Garden Centre from donating 4 Christmas trees for this campaign and the continual support of The Swan Centre, Bewdley Museum.”

Anyone who would like to dedicate a light in memory of their loved ones can do so online at www.kemphospice.org.uk or visit anyone where the Light up a Life trees are based or collect a dedication form from the Kemp shops, the Hospice itself or call the fundraising team on 01562 756066.
