A FORMER Stourport Mayor has been honoured by a golf club for his dedicated work for them.
Roy Crowe has been made Honorary Life President of Ombersley Golf Club in recognition of the work he has carried out over a number of decades.
Mr Crowe, who is the current President of Stourport Swifts FC, previously held the position of chairman at the club.
Ombersley General Manager and Head Professional Graham Glenister said: "Roy has been an ambassador for the golf club from day one.
“He held the position of Chairman for twenty years and played a significant part in our growth and development.
“He was particularly instrumental in the encouragement of Ladies' and Junior Golfers' as well as his own Men and senior sections.
“I cannot speak too highly of Roy and was delighted to announce his new title at our recent Presentation Evening."
