PEOPLE in Stourport are being urged not to leave it until the last minute to make sure their names are on the list of voters for the Worcestershire County Council by-election.
The vote is being held on Thursday, December 17, and was called following the death of Councillor Jim Parish.
Poll cards have already been sent to all registered electors and people not on the register have until Tuesday, December 1, to make sure their name is on the list.
Ian Miller, deputy returning officer, said: “You can’t vote in this by-election in Stourport-on-Severn unless you are registered.
“Anyone who will be 18 or over on Thursday, December 17, and has not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible.
“It takes only a few minutes to complete the form online and this will then give them the opportunity to have a say on issues that affect their lives.”
Residents in Stourport can check if their name is on the Register of Electors by calling the elections team on 01562 732733 or by registering online at gov.uk/register-to-vote.
Paper copies of the registration forms are available from the Worcestershire Hub at the Kidderminster Town Hall.
