A CHOIR from Kidderminster has been given a boost with the announcement of their new patron.

Viscount Cobham of Hagley has agreed to take on the role of patron of Kidderminster Male Choir.

Representatives from the choir said they were delighted that Viscount Cobham had accepted the invitation to join their ranks.

It caps a successful year for the choir which has seen them invited to perform at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod, a full concert at the Rose Theatre in Kidderminster and a tour of Norfolk.

Their busy schedule will also see them perform their signature Christmas Concert at Kidderminster Town Hall on Saturday, December 12.

A spokesman for Kidderminster Male Choir said: “Kidderminster Male Choir is overwhelmed that the Viscount Cobham has agreed to be the choir’s new patron.

“Viscount Cobham is one of the most respected members of the Worcestershire community and to have him associated with KMC is a wonderful honour’.

“2016 will also be a busy year for the choir with a number of performances already booked.

“Despite his very busy schedule we hope to welcome Viscount Cobham and his family at some of the concerts.”
