ABOUT 60 litres of diesel has been contained by the Environment Protection Unit in Bewdley after a leaking generator spilled liquid into the River Severn.
The equipment, which is based at Stourport Fire Station, was used this afternoon to isolate the leaking generator and attempt to contain the spillage from the river at Load Street.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Bewdley and Stourport stations were in attendance at about 3.40pm this afternoon (November 28).
They were able to contain about 60 litres of diesel using absorbent granules and mats.
