A KIDDERMINSTER nursing student is seeking her town’s support as she bids to be crowned Miss Worcestershire 2016.

Beckie Price, 19, is looking to win the coveted title of Miss Worcestershire 2016 at the ceremony in January.

Miss Price, who is currently studying an Adult Nursing degree at the University of Worcester, said: “I entered the competition because it would be a dream come true to be honoured with the title of Miss Worcestershire 2016. It would be a privilege to be an ambassador for Worcestershire and to be able to continue some great projects and fundraising events with Beauty with a Purpose.

“It would also be brilliant to be able to work with other local charities such as St Richard’s Hospice as this charity is very close to my heart. But most of all, it would mean the world to me to represent Worcestershire in the Miss England finals.

“I am so excited for the finals and to take part in the show as well as build great friendships that will hopefully last a long time with the other contestants. I am especially looking forward to the sports round as I enjoy attending the gym and keeping myself fit.

“I am also thoroughly enjoying all of my finalist duties such as creating my Eco-dress, updating my own Facebook page and, of course, organising fundraising events and activities.”

Beckie has set up a Facebook page to document her journey to the Miss Worcestershire 2016 finals. You can find the page by searching for ‘Beckie Price - Miss Worcestershire 2016 Finalist’ on Facebook.

She has also set up a Virgin Money page to raise funds for Beauty with a Purpose, which can be found at uk.virginmoneygiving.com/BeckiePrice1.
