A MAN appearing in court for driving while disqualified was also awaiting sentencing on another driving while disqualified charge, magistrates heard.

Ryan Battersby was caught driving his blue Ford KA in Park Street, Kidderminster, while banned from the roads and without insurance by police on November 24.

But, after prosecutor Leslie Ashton gave the details about these two offences to Kidderminster Magistrates' Court, where he appeared pleading guilty on December 10, the court was told by his defence solicitor, Katherine Maynereid, that he was already facing another set of driving while disqualified and driving without insurance charges at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court.

Ms Maynereid said the 24-year-old had pleaded guilty to the additional driving offences at an earlier hearing at the Wolverhampton court, along with two common assault charges, and was awaiting sentence on December 22.

Chairman of the magistrates Brent Robinson ordered the driving offences from November 24 in Park Street be adjourned until December 22 and sentenced at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court to tie up with the rest of the charges.

Battersby, of Park Street, Kidderminster, was granted unconditional bail to appear at the court for sentencing.
