LEAGUE tables showing GCSE and A-level results from schools in Wyre Forest have been published.

Schools in Wyre Forest have seen both a drop and an increase in their GCSE and A-level results for 2015 compared to the previous years.

At Bewdley School and Sixth Form Centre, 62 per cent of students gained five or more A* to C grades in their GCSE exams. Fifty-seven per cent of the students gained the benchmark in 2014.

Headteacher, Julie Reilly, said: “We are pleased with the continued strong attainment in examination results which indicates that the school is above the national average in several key measures.

“This includes the proportion of pupils securing five or more A* to C grades, attainment in English, mathematics and across pupil’s best eight subjects.

“Results reflect the high aspirations of staff, learners, parents and carers.”

Heathfield School saw a 16 per cent increase – 93 per cent of the students at the Wolverley Road school gained five or more A* to C grades including English and maths, compared to 77 per cent in 2014.

Lawrence Collins, headteacher, said: “We are delighted with Heathfield’s 2015 GCSE results.

“We are a non-selective school and we keep our class sizes small so that we can meet the needs of every individual.

“The pupils and staff work really hard to achieve these fantastic results. We are so proud of them all.”
