A STOURPORT man died as the result of a known complication of medical treatment, an inquest heard.
From a young age Thomas Chew, 40, of Abberley Avenue, had been given a cadaver derived growth factor and in September 2015 his health deteriorated and he was admitted into the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove.
His condition declined and he died on Friday, January 15.
An inquest held by Worcestershire Coroner’s Service, which opened on January 21, and closed on Thursday, January 28, ruled he died as the result of a known complication of medical treatment.
The medical cause of death, confirmed at the inquest, is listed as iatrogenic creutzfeldt – jakob disease and administration of cadaver derived growth factor.
