ORGANISERS of a big summer bash in Kidderminster are busy making final preparations for the event which takes place this weekend.

Brinton’s Bash will be held in Brinton’s Park on Saturday, June 4 from 12noon until 9.30pm where it will end with a huge firework display.

Businessman Dave Griffin has arranged the event as a replacement for the now defunct town carnival which was officially disbanded earlier this year.

Mr Griffin, who runs Quads and Castles, said a host of entertainers and acts have been signed up to appear.

Attractions during the day will include a ‘Happy Staffie’ fun dog show, a mountain bike stunt display with five times world champion Danny Butler, martial arts displays with a team from Eclipse, donkey rides, quad bike racing, various dance group performances and Zumba.

There will also be a new ‘last man standing’ attraction, large bouncy castles and slides, water zorbing balls, a dunk tank as well as market stalls and various foods from around the world.

For the evening, live music will start on stage from 5pm with the band TFI. Female vocalist Sammy Jo will perform from 6-630pm.

DJ Eddy will then perform a set until 7.15pm before a dance along show with Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol.

The Blues Brothers will then perform from 7.15pm to 8.30pm before The Murmur close the entertainment with an hour-long set until 9.30pm.

Mr Griffin said: “This is a community event that will give people the same happy memories they had from going to the carnival. I want it to be a regular fixture in everyone’s calendars.

“Our firework display has been sponsored by Hire it Kidderminster, Sign Here Worcester, Venture Construction Kidderminster and Fozzy’s cafe Hoo Farm Kidderminster, for which we are very grateful.

“So we also want to remind all local houses with pets the firework display will be after 9.30pm as soon as it’s dark enough to set them off.”
