WEST Midland Safari Park is on the hunt for animal-loving students, to take on its new Animal Management course.

The Bewdley attraction’s learning department will be working alongside Birmingham Metropolitan College to provide a level three extended diploma course, for students aged 16 and over.

The course will begin in September and will run alongside the park’s successful level two diploma in Animal Care. It will run for two years and will include three days based at the park and one day at Kidderminster Academy.

To qualify for the course, students must be at least 16-years-old and hold a level two qualification in an animal related subject, or appropriate GCSEs.

Caroline Richards, head of learning, said: “We are excited to offer the extended Animal Management Course as it provides a fantastic platform for students to progress their knowledge and experience within the animal field.

“Our lecturers are not only knowledgeable and experienced teachers, but they all have industry experience, which is vital to help prepare students for their future careers.”

She added: “Spaces are filling quickly, but we still have availability on both our level two and three courses, so we look forward to welcoming new students through the enrolment process.”

The level three course will have a combination of lectures, practical work, coursework and exams, and students will be required to attend work placements to build on their knowledge.
