COOKLEY Cricket club are set to stage one of the most prestigious games in their history when they plays hosts to celebrity side Lashings All Stars next month.
The game takes place on Friday, August 19 and looks set to be a star-studded occasion.
Lashings, who are coached by former West Indies great Gordon Greenidge, will be led by one-time England and Surrey player Chris Schofield and are likely to include former South African opening bat Herschelle Gibbs, West Indian test bowler Tino Best and India’s run machine Wasim Jaffer.
A number of hospitality packages will be available for the game and spokesman Jon Stanaway said: “Cookley are playing at the highest level in their history and this is designed to help raise the profile of the club.”
