ORGANISERS are hoping this year’s Bewdley Festival Community Art Project will be even bigger and better than last year.

Following the success of the project’s launch at last year’s Festival, community groups and local organisations will be going ‘quackers’ again by decorating Duck Houses for the popular event.

More than 40 local businesses, groups, organisations and individuals have already signed up to decorate the Duck Houses – which will be on display in Bewdley’s Jubilee Gardens in October in conjunction with Bewdley Festival.

Some groups have joined for the second year, while others, having missed out on last year’s project, are ready to get busy with paint, glue and decorations to bring their designs to fruition.

Colin Hill, Bewdley Festival’s arts co-ordinator, said: “All this fun and community involvement has been made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Midcounties Co-operative and the support of the Emily Jordan Foundation, which provides work for people with learning disabilities.

“The Duck House Trail will again be a great attraction in the town’s Jubilee Gardens throughout October.

“Last year’s visitor figures were up by nearly six thousand for the duration of the display.”
