TRIBUTES have been pouring in for Gene Wilder, who has died at the age of 83.

The actor was hailed a “comic genius” and one of the “great talents” of his generation, after it was announced that the star had passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s.

Director Mel Brooks – who worked with Wilder on many projects – led the tributes on Twitter.

JOHN Lennon’s killer has been denied parole for the ninth time.

The New York state Board of Parole announced that it has again denied parole to Mark David Chapman, who shot and killed the former Beatle outside his luxury Manhattan apartment on December 8 1980.

Chapman, now 61, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is serving a sentence of 20 years to life in Wende Correctional Facility in western New York.

THE winner of Robot Wars said his teammates were not able to celebrate their success because they had to get back to their jobs at Pontins.

Dave Young, Marc Dermott and Ben Bacon made up the Apollo team and were dubbed “the boyband of Robot Wars”.

They won the BBC2 show, which was rebooted this year after 12 years.

THOR – aka Chris Hemsworth – has starred in a hilarious video detailing what he’s been up to since battling evil in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

The warrior addresses why he wasn’t in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War in the mockumentary, revealing that he’s been enjoying some “me time” in Australia with a regular guy roommate called Darryl.

The sketch was filmed by director Taika Waititi, who is at the helm of the upcoming Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. First screened at Comic-Con earlier this year, it is now online and will undoubtedly have fans in stitches.

TAYLOR Swift has been dismissed as a potential juror in an aggravated rape and kidnapping case.

The singer reported for jury duty this week, and posed for pictures with excited fans at the court in her native Nashville.
