BEWDLEY will come alive with music, apple pies and duck houses as the town celebrates harvest.

The popular annual Harvest Fair is returning to the town on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2.

Bewdley Museum and Jubilee Gardens will be hosting free live music throughout the weekend - with the line-up including PTR Williams, Bethan and the Morgans, and David Jenkins.

Duck houses, decorated by community groups and businesses, will also be on show in Jubilee Gardens. The display will last throughout October and visitors can vote for their favourite duck house at the Tourist Information Centre.

This year, there will be another competition running on October 2 - the Bewdley Apple Pie Bake Off. Budding bakers can enter for the chance of winning afternoon tea for two at the Shambles Cafe at Bewdley Museum.

There is an apple hunt and autumn themed brass rubbing activities for children, which are being organised by the Friends of Bewdley Museum - as well as a variety of arts and crafts stalls.

Councillor Sally Chambers, Wyre Forest District Council's cabinet member for health, well-being and housing, said: "It is great to have the Harvest Fair back in Bewdley and the town will be buzzing over the weekend of the event.

"It is a wonderful time of the year, with so much to celebrate.

"Whether you just pop into the town to listen to the free live music or get your apron on and get baking for the apple pie competition, Bewdley will definitely be worth a visit."

There will be many other activities taking place in the town, including street theatre, a soup trail, a musical youth showcase as part of Bewdley Festival at St George's Hall on October 1, and a local produce market on October 2.
