A STAUNCH Harriers’ supporter and investor who helped save the club from going bust has passed away.

Kath Lane died on Wednesday, October 12 following a battle with illness, the club confirmed this week.

Mrs Lane and her devoted husband Ernie were associated with Kidderminster Harriers for years from a fund-raising perspective but it is their interventions between 2010 and 2015 that were critical to the club’s future.

Supporters paid tribute to Mrs Lane with a minute’s silence at Saturday’s FA Cup match against Weymouth, at Aggborough, which Harriers won 6-0.

Chairman Colin Gordon said: “Kath, along with her husband Ernie, was a staunch fan of the club and, without question, their financial support helped keep Kidderminster Harriers in existence near the turn of the decade.

“While their contribution will never be forgotten, our thoughts at this time are solely with Ernie and the rest of their family at this incredibly difficult period. Our condolences are with them.”
