A LOVING Kidderminster couple who met as teenagers have celebrated 60 years of wedded bliss together.

Marina and Fred Payne celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with a family meal at Brockencote Hall and a get together with friends and neighbours at their home in Kendlewood Road.

They were introduced to each other by Mr Payne’s sister Mary when both were aged 14 and lived on Norton Road in Harvington.

Romance blossomed and they were married on October 21, 1956. They initially lived on a farm in Droitwich where Mr Payne worked before later moving to Chaddesley Corbett.

Mr Payne left farming in 1968 and both he and his wife secured jobs at Coloroll Carpets in Kidderminster until it closed in 1990.

They moved to their current home in 1971. The couple have two sons Andy and Adam, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
