A POODLE has died following an unprovoked attack by another dog in Kidderminster.
The attack happened on an open field that backs onto the Spennells housing estate, the A449 Worcester Road and Stanklyn Lane at around 1pm on Wednesday, October 26.
A woman was walking her poodle on the field, when a jet black Alsatian, which was not believed to be on a lead, ran over and began to attack the poodle.
The poodle's owner attempted to stop the attack but the dog suffered multiple injuries and died a few hours later.
The woman was left shaken by the incident.
A man - described as white and in his 30s - retrieved the Alsatian and West Mercia Police officers are keen to speak to anyone who knows the Alsatian's owner or who saw the man in the area, prior to the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident reference number 0627S of October 26.
Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555111 or by visiting crimestoppers-uk.org.
