TOUCHING tributes to railway personnel who lost their lives for their country will be paid during a special service of remembrance at the Severn Valley Railway on Sunday (November 13).

A ceremony of hymns and prayers will take place on the concourse at Kidderminster station at 10.45am.

A short service will also take place at Bridgnorth station, alongside a locomotive adorned with a wreath, also at 10.45am.

Both services will pause at 11am, as those gathered join the nation in the two minutes’ silence.

Clare Gibbard, marketing and communications manager, said: “It is of huge importance to take time to reflect and remember those who have paid the ultimate price for their country – not to mention those men who have a link to the Railway itself.”

Normal fares will apply on the day, and annual family passes will be valid.
