A KIDDERMINSTER man who had been missing for days was discovered drowned at a Bewdley beauty spot, an inquest heard.

Joseph Stone, of Stourbridge Road, had been missing since the morning of Wednesday, September 7, where he was last seen at a bus stop in his road.

West Mercia Police confirmed during their search for Mr Stone they discovered a body at Bewdley Country Park on Saturday, September 10. Police were not treating the death as suspicious.

The inquest head that 76-year-old Mr Stone was found drowned in the River Severn.

An inquest held by Worcestershire Coroner’s Service, which opened on Friday, September 16, and closed on Tuesday, December 6, recorded an open conclusion.

The medical cause of death, confirmed at the inquest, is listed as drowning.
