CRICKET fans have already started queuing outside Kidderminster Victoria for tonight's Twenty20 game between Worcestershire and Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Chester Road.

Ticket holders and Worcestershire members have heeded warning by clubs to arrive in good time for the game, which was moved from New Road to Kidderminster after torrential rain flooded the country ground.

Worcestershire sold 4,000 tickets for the clash and a similar amount for Sunday's limited over match between The Pears and Glamorgan Dragons, but Kidderminster's maximum capacity is 2,500, which will mean some fans will miss out.

Kidderminster Victoria club secretary, Dave Clamp, said the Birmingham League club is braced for a deluge of fans.

"We're waiting for the onslaught to happen now," said Clamp.

"We're all set to go but now we're waiting to see how many we're going to get.

"Its hard to tell but Worcestershire sold 4,000 tickets for this game and we can only hold 2,500 at the most so some people are going to miss out."

By 2pm there was already a sizeable number of ticket holders waiting outside and by 3pm, when the club opens its doors, Mr Clamp expects even more to be outside.

If delayed by rain the clash can be reduced to ten overs a side to ensure there is some cricket action at Chester Road.

Clamp said: "Weather-wise we're in the lap of the gods. Reports suggest that it will be dry between 3pm and 7pm so if that's the case the game should go ahead."

Worcestershire members with car park passes can use Kidderminster Victoria CC's facilities, while ticket holders can park at Kidderminster Harriers. There is also a play and display car park at Severn Valley Railway.

Tickets are only available to Worcestershire members and existing ticket holders.
