A MULTI-million pound new Kidderminster road aimed at easing congestion and helping attract major investment to the area was officially opened today (Feb 17).

Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier unveiled a plaque at Hoobrook Link Road, which connects the A451 Stourport Road to the A442 Worcester Road.

The £16million project was completed back in September 2016 but a host of dignitaries including politicians and representatives from partners involved in the scheme joined Mr Garnier at today's event.

As well as reducing congestion and journey times, the aim of the road is to unlock access to surrounding land for commercial development and inward investment.

It is hoped this will in turn stimulate the local economy and create more jobs.
