Police tasered a Rowley Regis driver after he lost control of his car in Dudley in a diabetic trance.

Gareth Davies narrowly missed hitting workmen and a pedestrian whilst just avoiding a head on crash with a bus.

The 55-year-old later told police he was in "something like a dreamlike state" as he drove through traffic lights on red and clipped the kerb during the ten minute pursuit.

Councillor Mohammed Hanif has announced the four nominees who will battle it out to receive the Mayor's Award.

He is now urging people to go online and vote for the person/group they feel most deserves to take the award home after this year's Mayor's Civic Awards.

Dudley CCG wants residents’ views after it has proposed to stop prescribing medicines for short-term, minor conditions and ailments.

‘Self-managing’ medicines including painkillers, hay fever tablets, wart and verruca creams, cough and cold remedies, antihistamines and some skin products, will only be offered for long-term and chronic conditions.

The borough's health chiefs say they spend about £2 million per year of funds on widely available, over the counter medicines, while GPs spend an average of £5,000 every day seeing patients who have minor ailments that could be treated with remedies which patients could buy from a pharmacy, supermarket or shop.

A Black Country teacher and mum-of-two is getting set to make an epic journey across India in memory of her father.

Pam Batta, from Pedmore, had been planning to tour the north of the country with her dad Tarsem Lal but tragically he died suddenly in September 2016 before they could embark on their much-anticipated trip.

However, the intrepid mum has now decided to go it alone on the monumental journey as a tribute to her dad and to help her better understand the country he loved.

A woman had to be taken to hospital after suffering a 'nasty' leg injury and having to be rescued by specialist paramedics in the Lickey Hills Country Park.

The 39-year-old was out enjoying the countryside on the Woodpecker Trail - about a mile from the visitor centre - just after midday today, when she slipped and seriously injured her ankle.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman they want to speak to after a person was glassed in Kidderminster town centre.

The incident, which left the victim needing medical help for facial injuries, happened at premises in Oxford Street, Kidderminster, on Saturday February 11 betweem 10.05pm and 10.15pm.

Parents claim urgent calls for an Alcester road to be gritted before a fatal crash occurs have been ignored by the county council.

Worried mums and dads have expressed anger at Warwickshire County Council's refusal to add St Faiths Road to its list of approved gritting routes.

The road is home to two primary schools and two nurseries, which together are attended by nearly 600 children.
