MUSIC legend David Bowie has been named British Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards just over a year since his death.

The superstar received the accolade for the third time and is the first posthumous winner of a main category award in the Brits history.

Bowie, who died of cancer in January last year aged 69, also previously received the Outstanding Contribution to British Music award in 1996.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sang along with the late George Michael at the Brit Awards in tribute to the pop star, who died on Christmas Day.

The haunting performance saw Chris sing George’s ballad A Different Corner, before being joined by a clip of George, the two harmonising together.

In the background, clips from throughout George’s prestigious career were shown on the screen, adding to the poignancy of the tribute.

Lisa Marie Presley was accused of failing to disclose a $5.6 million-a-year fortune as she and her estranged husband appeared at a divorce hearing in Los Angeles.

Presley and Michael Lockwood, who have two children together, appeared at Los Angeles Superior Court where a judge ruled she must pay $50,000 (£40,000) towards his lawyers’ fees.

Presley, the only daughter of the late rock star Elvis, filed for divorce from musician Lockwood in June after 10 years of marriage.

Jeff Sturman, representing Lockwood, said his client faced “a continual state of poverty with no means to pay living expenses whatsoever” if Presley did not provide spousal support.
