A KIDDERMINSTER rector is braving the shave to raise funds for Comic Relief.

The Reverend Tim Williams, team rector for the Kidderminster West team, will have his head shaved on Thursday (March 23) to raise money for the 2017 Red Nose Appeal.

He said: "I always support Red Nose Day but this is the most extreme way that I have supported it.

"There are so many worthy causes but we cannot support them all.

"The good thing about Comic Relief is that they support projects both at home and abroad. In addition, everybody has fun."

He added: "I have to say, I have done some daft things for charity in the past like sitting in a bath of baked beans, sleeping on the streets for a night and driving a tractor for miles, but I have to admit, I am a bit apprehensive about this venture."

He will have his head shaved at the Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Club, in Marlpool Lane, at around 7.30pm on Thursday, and everyone is welcome to attend.
