A NEW look Bewdley Riverside Market has been hailed a success by its organisers.

The first new market was held on Sunday, April 2, with more than 25 stalls lining Load Street and Severnside South selling a range of locally produced food and drink, gifts and collectables, vintage, handmade items and clothing.

The now twice monthly market is organised by Bewdley Town Council, in partnership with LSD Promotions - based in Stourbridge.

Councillor John Beeson, the Mayor of Bewdley, said: "We were very pleased with the new market and the town had a wonderful atmosphere as a result.

"Bewdley is an historic market town and the range and quality of what was on offer certainly lived up to that.

"We are sure that the market will gain an excellent reputation for its quality and style, and will add to the town's vibrancy."

Mike Morgan, from LSD Promotions, added: "Traders and local businesses were very impressed with the stalls and the variety of products on offer.

"Stallholder sales have increased since we have taken over the market.

"We also received a lot of positive feedback on the location of the market and due to high numbers of visitors, it had a nice atmosphere throughout the day.

"All traders have booked to return to the next market on April 16, which will be on Severnside North and South, with the special 'Bewdley Make It or Bake It' event on Easter Monday, April 17."

Bewdley Riverside Market will take place on the first and the third Sunday, each month, in Load Street and Severnside South.
