A KIDDERMINSTER school has recently opened its renovated library.
Year three pupils at Franche Primary School helped design the library as part of their 'Matilda' topic and, just like the story's main character, they made sure they dreamt big.
A spokesman for the school said: "This involved the pupils enlisting a builder to open up the space and crafting a fairytale tree to grow in the corner.
"Year four wrote formal letters to the Parent Teacher Association asking for money and thanks to the PTA's tireless fundraising efforts, we were able to stock the library with high interest books for all ages and abilities.
"Getting children involved in the whole process has given them a much greater sense of ownership and responsibility and has helped us to further inspire a lifelong love of reading among our pupils."
