WYRE Forest parliamentary candidate Shazu Miah has condemned Monday's terrorist attack in Manchester.
Liberal Democrat Shazu Miah, who also sits on Wyre Forest District Council, said his thoughts were with all those affected by the attack - which left 59 people injured and 22 dead.
Mr Miah, who lived in Manchester for two years from 2005, said: "I woke up on Tuesday morning to see on the television, pictures of the atrocity carried out overnight and I have to say that I gave an extra hug to my children before they went to school.
"I was saddened and astonished to see how a young person could carry out such attacks.
"My thoughts and the thoughts of all Muslims in Wyre Forest are with all the people affected."
He added: "It is comforting to see that all communities came together in the aftermath, which is a testament to the people of Manchester and the British way of life."
