GENEROUS Kidderminster and Bewdley slimmers donated bundles of clothes to raise thousands of pounds for Cancer Research UK.

The Slimming World groups in Bewdley and Kidderminster donated the clothes they have slimmed out of to the Big Slimming World Clothes Throw to raise money for the cancer charity.

The groups collected 157 bags of clothes, shoes and accessories - raising £4,710 for Cancer Research.

A spokesman for the Kidderminster and Bewdley groups said they were very proud of their members' fundraising efforts and added that it had been great to see so many bags of clothes donated.

The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw aims to increase awareness of how keeping a healthy weight helps reduce the risk of developing types of cancer. Last year, slimmers across the UK raised £2.1 million through donations.
