A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she was cut free from a car today (Tuesday, July 18)following a crash in Kidderminster.

Emergency services were called to Bewdley Hill at around 1.30pm this afternoon where two cars had crashed.

Firefighters cut the roof of one of the cars to help get a 53-year-old occupant out.

She was suffering chest pains and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.

The smash happened at the junction of Bewdley Hill and Oakfield Road. Police closed Jubilee Drive as a result of the crash.

The incident caused congestion and huge delays for motorists as fire crews worked to clear the scene.

Roads were reopened a short time ago and traffic is starting to return to normal.
