Black Country comedy act The Fizzogs have jetted off to New York to showcase their Dancing Grannies act to new audiences in the Big Apple.

The Fizzogs have been wanting to make a trip to the US for some time – having notched up a good few fans in America after a video of their grannies routine went viral on Facebook.

On arrival in the States – they aim to perform their now famous flashmob to unsuspecting New Yorkers in Times Square.

Rat and mouse dropping have landed an Oldbury food warehouse with a £12,000 fine after a visit from the hygiene inspectors.

Pearl Food Distribution Limited was found to have a “serious rodent infestation” when Sandwell Council inspectors visited in April 2016.

As well as the droppings, inspectors also discovered gnawed food, urine, nesting material and smear marks throughout the warehouse.

A Rowley Regis man has been fined £200 for drink driving.

Innocent Mugwagwa Bamu, aged 52, of Belle Vue Road, had 86mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath when he was caught behind the wheel in Rowley Regis on August 28. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was also sentenced for driving without insurance.

Bamu was disqualified from driving for 21 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

A Bromsgrove pub has been forced to close after staff became infected with a highly-contagious vomiting virus.

Bosses at the Golden Cross Hotel pub in the town’s High Street shut the branch on Saturday, after the suspected norovirus outbreak became apparent.

A customer notice posted in the pub window reads: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately we are temporarily closed.

"We hope to [be] back up and running as soon as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience."

Two men have been charged following a police incident on a crime-hit estate in Rock Hill.

Police were again called to Breackback Road on Wednesday, September 6, after receiving reports a man wielding a hammer smashing a resident's door down.

West Mercia Police confirmed officers visited the road at 10.20pm to reports of a theft, where two men were arrested and have since been charged.

The new store is set to open in The Kingfisher Shopping Centre on September 22 and will stock a range of vinyl, CDs, turntables, earphones and speaker docks, Blu-ray, DVDs, books and an extensive collection of music and film related T-shirts and merchandise.

The family of a man who died following a collision near Inkberrow have said their "hearts are broken" in a moving tribute.

Andrew Fawcett was travelling along the A422 Inkberrow to Flyford Flavell road around 3.50pm on Sunday, September 3 when his vehicle was in collision with a white Ford Ranger pickup, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

The 51-year-old, from Northampton, was taken to hospital but subsequently died from his injuries.
