AFTER a rainy day across most parts of the Black Country and North Worcestershire yesterday, today is expected to be a drier, brighter day, but there is a weather warning for this evening.

This morning will be mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells for many of us. The odd light shower is possible, but most will stay dry, with temperatures expected to be around the 15.5°C mark.

However, it will become cloudier with increasing winds from the west later on into the late afternoon as temperatures reach highs of 17°C.

Heavy rain and strong to gale or even severe gale force winds have seen a yellow weather warning come into place for this evening, which are likely to bring potentially disruptive conditions.

Between 8pm today and 10am tomorrow, very strong winds with gusts of 55-65 mph, perhaps reaching 75 mph in exposed places, are looking increasingly likely on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Longer journey times by road, rail and air are likely, with restrictions on roads and bridges. There is also a chance of power cuts, and damage to trees and perhaps buildings.

Minimum temperatures of 9°C expected.
