A KIDDERMINSTER choir is inviting residents to join their fun and uplifting weekly rehearsals.

Local musician, Christa Hugo, has been running Rock Choir rehearsals since 2012 and the group has gone from strength to strength - and they are now appealing for new members in Wyre Forest.

Over the years, group have performed at iconic venues such as the Symphony Hall, the Genting Arena and Wembley Stadium, often alongside famous singers and celebrities including Kiki Dee and Chesney Hawkes.

Most recently, they travelled to the world famous Abbey Road Studios to take part in their own recording session.

A spokesman said: "Exciting plans are afoot for the new academic year and those who are interested in finding out more are encouraged to come along for a free taster session.

"Rock Choir makes singing accessible to everyone and there are no auditions and members don't need to read sheet music or have any previous experience.

"Singing together and achieving such a great sound gives members a huge sense of fulfilment."

Rock Choir performs regularly in the local area and many of their events help to raise both awareness and money for local and national charities.

Kidderminster Rock Choir rehearse in the Valley Suite, at Severn Valley Railway, every Monday during term time between 8pm and 9.30pm.
