A FREE programme to encourage Wyre Forest residents to get active and become healthier is set to return to the district this month.

Following its success earlier this year, 'Shape Up' will return to Wyre Forest to encourage participants to make healthy lifestyle choices related to food, activity and fitness.

The free 12-week programme is delivered by the Living Well Service, Wyre Forest Leisure Centre and supported by the Sports Partnership Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Nutritional and dietary advice will be offered throughout the programme to help achieve a balanced diet, and participants will also choose and take part in a range of activities at the district's leisure centre. Previous activities have included badminton, aqua, boxing, table tennis and swimming.

Jayne McCullough, county coordinator for the Living Well Service, said: "The Living Well Service is delighted to be working again with Wyre Forest Leisure Centre, the Sports Partnership and Wyre Forest District Council to deliver the successful 'Shape Up' programme.

"Together we can support and motivate you to improve your health and wellbeing, try new activities and make new friends. It is an opportunity too good to be missed."

Programmes will start at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in September.
