BEWDLEY'S popular Harvest Fair is returning to the town this weekend.

Bewdley Museum and the Jubilee Gardens will be hosting free live music on Saturday (October 7) and Sunday (October 8).

Bewdley musician, Bryn Teeling, will be performing music inspired by the Beatles on Saturday from 12.30pm, while Sunday will see the Worcester Ukulele Band from 12.30pm.

The Bewdley Apple Pie Bake Off will also return on Sunday - where bakers can enter the pies for the chance of winning a fruit and vegetable hamper donated by Bewdley Farm Shop.

Pies will need to be taken to the Sawyard by noon, with judging to commence at 12.30pm.

Youngsters can take part in harvest themed craft activities which are on offer between 11am and 3.30pm all weekend at the museum, for £4 per person. There is also a traditional apple hunt around the museum and gardens - costing £2 per person, with a prize for everyone who completes it.

There will also be a variety of arts and crafts stalls in the museum, including the resident craft artists 'Made in the Museum'.

Visitors can also take a walking tour of Bewdley Hostelries and Bewdley Brewery from 1pm on Saturday. It starts from the museum's front entrance and lasts around two hours taking in some of the 63 former and existing pubs and beer houses - ending at Bewdley Brewery where there is a chance to try their guest beers. The tour costs £4.50 per person.

Wyre Forest Gallery at Bewdley Museum is also hosting the Bewdley Festival Exhibition - which this year features works by artist Keith Turley and runs until Sunday, October 29.

The ever popular Bewdley Soup Trail will also return on Saturday - with many local eateries involved. Tickets for £5 are available from Bewdley Farm Shop and the Bewdley Tourist Information Centre now.

Premises participating in the Soup Trail include Pomodoro, the Junction, the Mug House, the Cock and Magpie and the Shambles Cafe. The winning soup/chef will win a trophy which will be announced on Sunday and presented by the Mayor of Bewdley outside the Guildhall at 11am.

A local produce market will be along Severnside South on both days. Local wine, fine rustic artwork, floral art work, copper jewellery, ginger spiced cocktails, quirky harvest cupcakes, pumpkin soup, autumn crafts, shabby chic door wreaths and thick fireside rugs will be for sale along the riverside front.

Councillor Juliet Smith, Wyre Forest District Council's cabinet member for culture, leisure and community protection, said: "There is something for everyone to join in with at the Harvest Fair.

"Bewdley will be buzzing over the weekend and most definitely worth a visit.

"The museum is free to enter and you can enjoy live music and a browse around the exhibition and stalls and there are some paid for activities too.
