MEMBERS of a Bewdley choir helped raise £1,500 in support of Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

Fifty Got 2 Sing choir members headed down to Kidderminster town centre to help raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Support's fundraising event.

Shoppers dug deep to support the charity, while the choir entertained crowds in Weavers Wharf, outside Kidderminster Town Hall and near the town's new Riverside development.

More than £1,500 was raised for the charity - from the town centre performances and cake sales which had been held across all the Midlands' Got 2 Sing choirs in the last week.

Beth Dunn, director and founder of Got 2 Sing, said: "Our members have been busy baking and singing this week, and I am thrilled that we have raised so much for this most worthy charity.

"With our concert recently at Birmingham's Symphony Hall, which raised an amazing £8,500 for Worcester Breast Unit Haven, this pushes our charity fundraising over five years to over £100,000 - which is an incredible amount."

Got 2 Sing runs nine choirs in the Midlands, including in Bewdley, Stourbridge, Bromsgrove and Worcester.
