A CHURCH harvest celebration helped raise a super £200 for the Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm, to help support disadvantaged children from Bromsgrove.

Upton Warren celebrated harvest with a supper in St Michael’s Church, Swan Lane, which included entertainment from singer-songwriter Chris Cleverly.

The event, on September 9, was one of a number which has helped raise £1000 for local charities and the church this year, with the latest benefiting Dodford’s Holiday Farm.

St. Michael’s Church warden Jenny Deighton, who visited the farm to hand over the cheque on October 4, said: “It was a pleasure to be able to support such a worthy local cause.

“The church is proud to be involved with the community in this way.”

Jean Smith, one of the community organisers, added: “We enjoyed our visit to the farm and hope that it continues to provide support for disadvantaged children from Bromsgrove and beyond.”

The Holiday Farm offers holidays and short breaks to disabled and underprivileged children and has a collection of animals including goats, sheep and donkeys.
