There could be a few heavy outbursts before morning, with temperatures dropping to 5°C.

Looking ahead to the weekend, patchy rain will start to clear early on Saturday morning, paving the way for a dry afternoon.
It will remain rather cloudy with only the odd bright spell and temperatures reaching 10°C.
Sunday will be slightly colder, with sunshine and more scattered showers. These should clear in time for Monday, leaving a dry but frosty start to next week.
