PAUL Hollywood has said the female stars of the Great British Bake Off “abandoned” the series when it moved from the BBC to Channel 4.

Co-judge Mary Berry and presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins chose not to go with the baking programme when it was sold last year.

Hollywood faced a backlash from fans after he decided to make the move, declaring that the tent is “where I belong”.

CHART topper Ed Sheeran will perform on the Top Of The Pops Christmas Day special.

The singer-songwriter will complete a festive line up including Dua Lipa, Clean Bandit, Rita Ora and The Script, who will all take to the stage for the one hour BBC special.

Sheeran’s third album, Divide, was released in March 2017, and included hits Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill.

DAME Julie Walters has said that she still speaks to a photograph of long-time friend Victoria Wood following her death 18 months ago.

The Harry Potter star was a long-time collaborator and close friend of comedian Wood, who died aged 62 in April last year after a battle with cancer.

Dame Julie told Radio Times magazine, referring to a picture of Wood in her house: “I always look at that picture when I go past.”
