A SERIAL fundraiser from Kidderminster raised more than £1,500 for a children's cancer charity at a Halloween-themed party night.

Julie Hardiman held the event at the Gainsborough House Hotel in October and raised £1,521.41 for Children with Cancer UK.

The event featured a performance by Kidderminster band Blind Lemon.

She said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to Danny and his team at the Gainsborough for allowing us to use the room for the evening, to all the local, small businesses for donating raffle prizes and to everyone for supporting this event by purchasing a ticket - because without you this amount of money would not have been raised.

"A special thank you to Dawn Bartley for being by my side from day one - making props, planning and organising the event with me."

Julie has been raising funds for Children with Cancer UK since 2010, raising more than £20,000. The charity funds research into causes and treatments, and supports families of youngsters affected by cancer.
