A WYRE Forest charity that helps young people who are homeless has been given welcome support from a bank.

Lloyds Bank in Kidderminster held a coffee and cake day last month to help Wyre Forest Nightstop create awareness for the vital work it does in the district.

Kidderminster Mayor Nicky Gale, Councillor Rose Bishop and Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier also attended the event to lend their support.

Judith Ford, CEO at Nightstop, said: “Wyre Forest Nightstop would like to say a huge thank you to the Lloyds Kidderminster Branch and the Lloyds Bank Foundation for their support.

“Branch staff have volunteered their time to support Nightstop and we were made incredibly welcome when we spent the day with Lloyds staff in the Kidderminster bank.

“We rely heavily on the support of our local community and Lloyds Banking Group are a fantastic example of business and charities coming together to work with our community. We are always keen to hear from anyone wishing to volunteer or donate to the charity.”

Sam Aitchison-Turvey, Branch Manager added: “I was also very proud to have taken part in supporting such a fantastic cause.

“It was great to be able to let the local community of Kidderminster know what a difference Nightstop make to these young adults that find themselves homeless.”

And Councillor Gale said: “Nightstop is a really good organisation that supports young people at their lowest to give them breathing space.

“In order to continue to do that it would be great if more people could volunteer and if local businesses could support the charity, in a big or small way.

“The public are always a great support with donations of toiletries and money. Without Nightstop our young people would not have the step up to make a positive commitment to their community.”
