PREPARATIONS are well underway for a popular Christmas tree festival aimed at raising much-needed funds for a Bewdley church roof.

All Saints Church in Wribbenhall will host the annual event later this month where people will be asked to vote for their favourite entry in juniors and seniors categories.

Last year, the church had 78 trees and attracted more than 400 visitors and organiser Carol Lardner is hoping to beat that record this time around.

The 2016 festival also raised more than £400 and proceeds from this year will go to the church roof fund.

Trees are being decorated on December 14 and 15. The church will be open to view them on December 16 from 10am-4pm, December 17 from 11am to 4pm and December 18 from 10am-12noon.

Anyone wishing to enter a tree to the festival can find out more from Carol Lardner on 01562 746882.
