A TALENTED Bewdley hair stylist has proved to be a cut above after securing a coveted place working with some of the world’s leading models at London Fashion Week.

Tessa Rouse made it through a series of tough auditions and has been chosen to work backstage alongside the artistic team from Toni & Guy, helping to style up to 40 fashion models throughout the five-day show.

The 23-year-old is a colouring and styling expert from the Duce and Romao salon on Load Street in Bewdley and she said the opportunity was a dream come true.

To get there, Tessa went through a six-stage audition process where she was judged by a Toni and Guy international artistic team in a variety of styling tests.

She will now help style models in up to 10 shows each day at a variety of venues across London during the fashion festival which runs from February 16 to 20.

She said: “It has always been one of my ambitions to work backstage and experience the buzz at a big fashion event.

“London Fashion Week attracts people from across the world so I cannot wait to work and learn more from so many amazing people.

“I went through a really tough audition process so I am also pleased that the team at Toni and Guy liked my ideas and felt I would be a good fit in their team.

“I also hope to pick up some tips from the other stylists I will be working with so I can bring those ideas back to Bewdley. I can’t wait to get going.”

Laura Duce, the salon’s artistic director and co-owner, added: “Since joining us three years ago, Tess has established herself as one of the area’s most talented up-and-coming hair stylists.

“It’s absolutely brilliant news for her after passing an intense audition process. She now has the opportunity to shine, showcase what she can do, and work with models and experts from across the world.

“To play a part in one of the world’s top fashion shows is wonderful news for Tess and fully deserved. Everyone connected with the salon is delighted for her.”
