SEVERN Trent bosses have confirmed four-way traffic lights that have been in operation while work to fix a collapsed Kidderminster sewer pipe is carried out will not be in operation this weekend.
Engineers have been working to rectify the problem at Comberton Hill since Monday and the temporary lights have been in operation every day, causing huge tailbacks for frustrated motorists.
But they will be removed in time for Kidderminster Harriers’ home game against Southport, which kicks off at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday, January 26).
Instead, the work area will be cordoned off more closely and the road mostly reopened with the only restriction being there will be no right turn from Comberton Hill into Hoo Road.
Work will resume with the temporary traffic lights back in operation on Monday.
The company also confirmed the work is taking a little longer than they had hoped. While the work was scheduled to be completed by February 2, Severn Trent had hoped to finish it by the end of this week.
It is now anticipated to be complete by the end of next week.
